Welcome, Sabrina & Girls! 💖
I’m so happy to welcome you all, and it’s an honor to be part of your wedding journey. Thank you for trusting me to help create a beautiful surprise performance that will become one of the highlights of Sabrina’s special day.
In the download section next to this message, you’ll find your complete edited wedding soundtrack. I’ve already included the Attan at the beginning and shortened the entire mix to approximately 3 minutes, making it the perfect length for your performance.
You’ll also find each individual song available as a separate download. I highly recommend listening to and practicing with the individual songs first before rehearsing the complete mix.
How we’ll learn your choreography
We’ll begin with the three shorter songs:
These are easier to learn and will help you build confidence quickly.
Although the Attan is danced at the very beginning of your performance, we’ll learn it last.
Why?
Because the Attan includes the entrance, formations, and the overall visual impact of your performance. Since you’re beginners, I want you to first feel comfortable with the easier choreography before focusing on the opening sequence. This gives you plenty of time to practice the Attan and create a confident, elegant entrance that will immediately impress your guests.
Don’t worry—we’re not creating anything overly complicated. Instead, we’ll use beautiful, authentic, beginner-friendly Attan movements and formations that look impressive while remaining comfortable and enjoyable to dance.
A little performance tip 💡
If you plan to wear shoes during your performance, make sure to rehearse with the same shoes you’ll wear on the wedding day during the final weeks before the event. This helps your body become familiar with dancing in them and makes you feel much more confident on the big day.
If you decide to dance barefoot for a more traditional folkloric style, then simply continue practicing barefoot.
Most importantly…
Have fun!
Enjoy every step of this journey together, and let’s create a wedding performance that Sabrina, Rolf, and all of your guests will remember forever.
Congratulations! 🎉
You’ve now learned the complete choreography.
You can either perform it exactly as I’ve taught it, or feel free to adapt it to your own style and comfort level.
I recommend starting calmly and confidently. Take your time as you enter the dance floor. Enjoy the moment, stay relaxed, and make it feel ceremonial and special. This is your grand entrance, so don’t rush it.
Once you’ve reached your starting position, gently settle into the rhythm with the basic Attan steps and begin moving together in one large circle.
This also helps with the timing of the music and allows you to complete the circle naturally.
For each Attan variation or combination, I’d recommend dancing two full circles before moving on to the next section.
For example, when you’re dancing in place and gently swinging your arms, repeat that movement about 16 counts before you continue walking in the circle again.
Then dance another two full circles before introducing the next variation, such as the change of direction.
If the change of direction feels too difficult or doesn’t feel natural, simply leave it out. I’ve included it as an optional variation in case you’d like to add a little more visual interest to your performance—but it’s absolutely not required.
The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and enjoy dancing together.
At first, three minutes may seem quite long. But once you’re dancing and moving through the choreography, you’ll notice that the time passes surprisingly quickly.
Above all, relax, smile, enjoy the music, and have fun together.
Your positive energy and happy faces will create a wonderful atmosphere—and that’s exactly what your guests will remember most.
I wish you an amazing performance and a truly unforgettable wedding celebration! ❤️
